There are some very surprising moments peppered throughout the story that are utterly fascinating to see happen. The story & plot development that we see through the sequence of events which unfold here as well as how the reader learns information. I like how this plays out and how the story is being told. Sometimes the best tool a writer has it he readers' own imagination and the way that Lindsey is able to utilise that in his work is really well done. Now I do like how we see a Mad Warlord's bid for power playing out here as it really does grab the readers' attention and takes them off-script which is completely engaging. Honestly I would have been just fine without it but Lindsey thought he needed that so here it is. The two page spread gives us this quick synopsis of the Alteria and that is helpful to a degree and I say this because I am not entirely sure how that ties into the story at hand. The main story is a nice little shock to the system as well. The way we see the nod to Star Trek here was utterly phenomenal and it really made me excited for what was to come. I am still this huge fan of Jason's wraparound story art and I cannot wait till one day he's in my sketchbook. ![]() It really is the perfect blend of kitsch and modern and Tapehead is the new Cryptkeeper! So this steps away from the norm here for me anyway as I am not familiar with any of these characters or ideas.
